'Peerspace3: Aspiring' might be just right for you........
When you have lived or living experience of mental health challenges, starting on the path towards a career in mental health as a regulated professional, perhaps in mental health nursing, clinical psychology, or a psychiatry specialist training for example, can be daunting. Lots of uncertainty exists alongside your bucket loads of passion, interest and compassion.
Wondering if there is a place for you within the profession you have chosen, how to help others see the value your lived experience often brings, whilst feeling safe in your decisions around sharing your story- there's a lot going on here. This can be especially hard when completing applications, and interviews, and when your place of work changes frequently as you gain experience. It can feel difficult to find a community who can gather with you around that shared experience of bridging the professional-personal divide, and yet it is often only in community that internalised shame and stigma can be squashed.
Our 'Peerspace3: Aspiring' group program is here to support you, celebrate you, and walk the path by your side. This is in2gr8mentalhealth's very first group mentoring program solely for those aspiring into regulated mental health professions, with lived experience, who have not yet secured a training place. Meetings are via zoom, once a month for 8 months, facilitated by qualified mental health professionals with lived experience themselves.
Spaces are still available but filling up fast, so to book an initial conversation and secure your place click the link at the top of the blog.
