Workshop on Lived Experience and Stigma: Exploring Together with Peer Support Workers in Wales

Writer: Dr Natalie KempDr Natalie Kemp

New workshop excitement!

We'll be at the Peer Support Worker induction day at Aneurin Bevan University Health Board - Adult Mental Health Peer Support Team.

We'll say hello from us as regulated mental health professionals with lived experience, and gather round that lived experience together, to discuss and explore the following:

🟢 Affect of mental health stigma on Mental/Health attitudes towards experiential knowledge, power & 'competence'

🟢 Affect of sharing lived experience in teams

We can't wait to learn and develop this more. We hear there can be schisms in some teams about how much peer support is valued. We also fight to have lived experience valued too.

There is a synergy here.
